Gulfstream's G700 will be its new flagship jet from 2022

A Gulfstream G700 landed in Qatar for the first time in September 2021 and was part of a demonstration flight by the American aircraft manufacturer to show off its new luxury jet. The $75 million ultra-long-range G700 is also the world's largest purpose-built private jet reported by the media at the demo.

The G700 will be the new flagship private jet of Gulfstream from 2022, and also is the aircraft manufacturer's most expensive jet.

Qatar Airways private air subsidiary was proud to display the Gulfstream G700, which it is expected to receive ten of in 2022 for flight operations.

We look at what makes the new Gulfstream flagship special and how it delivers new features to exclusive private air travel.

The Exciting New Gulfstream Ultra-long-range Flagship Jet

The Gulfstream G700 is an ultra-long-range jet capable of flying from Doha to New York in 12 hours, which is significantly faster than modern airliners. Commercial airlines complete the same route in over 14 hours. The long-range means it could potentially fly non-stop between cities like New York and Johannesburg, London-Santiago, Chile; and even Hong Kong-Dallas reports the Business Insider,

(Even for the purpose of the demo flight to Doha, the 6,711-nautical mile flight from Savannah, Georgia was completed in just 13 hours and 16 minutes. Gulfstream says this is a speed record for the route.)

Seating for up to 19 passengers and space for 13 sleeping passengers is available on the G700

Powered by Rolls-Royce 700 engines and an advanced high-speed wing design, the extremely fast luxurious jet is ideal for luxurious long business flights.

Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream said “This new, industry-leading cabin altitude is a result of our ongoing investments in customer health and safety and will provide even more comfort for passengers over the ultra-long-range flights the G700 is capable of achieving.”

The cabin can be configured in various formats, with up to five different living areas. There is seating for up to 19 passengers, and the G700 is able to provide adequate space for 13 sleeping passengers. Alternatively, the cabin can be adapted to have four living areas, which can seat 19 passengers and sleep up to nine passengers, or even have an accompanying private suite with an en suite bathroom. There are several layout options that the passengers can configure pre-flight depending on their needs.

There is ample room in the cabin regardless. Gulfstream designed the space to be the widest and tallest in the industry.  Never mind the classy galley area which can service all meal types from morning to evening and everything in between.

The cabin will have 100% fresh, never recycled air; and whisper-quiet noise levels. There are 20 large windows and even when closed, the lighting system has been designed to mimic circadian rhythms, to assist passengers to sleep more easily on long-haul flights.

The G700 features an award-winning seat design with advanced ergonomics. They are elegant and comfortable and each has its individual pocket tables, which can be multifunctional. Business Insider suggests “the tables automatically pop up for customers instead of the traditional method of pushing down on the table for it to extend from the sidewall.” Passengers each have their own control unit in each seat, to select aspects of the cabin lighting, entertainment, window shapes etc.

There is also a separate crew compartment and they enter the aircraft from a separate entrance.
