Saudi Cup - The world’s richest race
Even though the Saudi Cup will only be running for the third time in 2022, the world’s richest race attracts the finest horses from Europe, Latin America, Asia and North America.
The event is organised by the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia and features dirt and turf races that regularly attract the world’s highest-rated racehorses. The 2022 event saw
a record number of entries from 22 countries, including 70 individual Group 1 or Grade 1 winners.
The two-day meeting at the end of February is worth $31.5 million and is held at the King Abdulaziz racecourse with the track “reflecting the unique culture and heritage of the country”, says Sarah Tregoning, media and communications director at the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA).
As well as The Saudi Cup, the race day also features five highly Group 3 races on both dirt and turf, the Group 2 Obaiya Arabian Classic for Purebred Arabian racehorses and the Jockey Club Handicap for locally-trained horses.

There are some relaxations of the usually strict rules for dress code and alcohol at the event in the Islamic-abiding country,

The Dubai World Cup - Luxury Horse Racing
Is a longstanding and popular meet for international racing fans - The Dubai World Cup started in 1996 and it has as much as a $35 million prize purse (now considered the second richest horse race).
From January to March, racers head to the Meydan Racecourse to enjoy the races and Dubai itself, with the finals taking place towards the end of March.
The racecourse itself runs a number of fine-dining restaurants such as the glass-fronted Winners Circle restaurant located on the 2nd and 3rd Floor of the Meydan Grandstand. where guests are treated to a 3-course set menu with premium, beverage options.
Guests also gain access to Apron Views, a social village and the Parade Ring Lounge includes close-up views of the horses in the parade ring. Other dining options include the Paddock View and Parade Ring,

Melbourne Cup - Australia’s #1 Horserace event
Race events take place in November at the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne, with horses from around the globe attending to compete for the $5.3 million to $8 million prize purse.
There has been an increase in the number of mega-rich races. In Australia alone, the $15 million The Everest and $8 million Golden Eagle, rival the traditional Melbourne Cup while The Big Dance ($2 million race to be run at Royal Randwick) has been scheduled in New South Wales to run the same day as Melbourne Cup day, reported the Sydney Morning Herald.
With its roots going back to 1861, this is an important cultural event in Australia - the country stops to watch the main races and attendees wear customary celebratory hats and also compete for the titles of best-dressed man and woman during the race week.
